Margie Scott Beckett's Adventures

In September of 2008 I went to my 50th reunion at Santa Monica High School (Samohi). Here I am with Ted Armbrister.

My husband, Dave Beckett, and I are ferrying our son from Catalina Island back to the Tole Mour, a student sailing ship, on which he has been working for the last 2½ years as program director. We spent a great week on one of Guided Discoveries trips snorkeling, sailing, singing shanties etc. with 35 students from 6th grade to seniors in high school. The goal of the program is to teach young people to respect and understand the ocean and its inhabitants, and we were very impressed to say the least!

Dave and I went on a 92 mile kayaking and camping trip called Paddle Oregon in August. Physically demanding but lots of fun—paddling and camping out in tents but with amazing gourmet meals out in the wilderness for 5 days.
