I have had an enjoyable and intellectually rewarding career as a university teacher and researcher in marine biology.
I have managed to raise two great kids who are now happily married (the oldest with a daughter) and pursuing careers distant from my own.
Last June I entered the CSU "FERP" (a great acronym for Faculty Early Retirement Program) that enables me to maintain involvement (teaching spring semester and continuing my research program) and free up the fall semester for travel, running around the central coast area to pick up grapes for home winemaking, and other things.
