Pam and Semmes

Krissa, Elisabeth, and Joel

After Pomona, I went to the University of Washington Medical School, then internship at Santa Clara County Hospital in San Jose. I spent five years as a general medical officer in the Air Force, serving in Vietnam, Germany and England. Dermatology residence at Portland, Oregon, then two years as an Army dermatologist in the Boston area. Have been in private practice of dermatology here in Mt. Vernon, Washington, since 1976. Married my wife, Pam, in 1976. The Lord has blessed us with three wonderful children: Joel (21 years), Krissa (18 years), and Elisabeth (11 years).

Favorite professor: Yost Amrein, who stimulated and encouraged my interest in zoology.

Most memorable Pomona experiences: Singing in the choir and serving as engineer at radio station KSPC. Also, a founding member of Zeta Chi Sigma fraternity. In retrospect, it’s also memorable that Dave Ball survived two years of rooming with me!

Most significant life experience: Being baptized in the Seventh Day Adventist Church in 1982.

My interest in railroads has grown into acquiring and refurbishing a Union Pacific bay window caboose, in which I’ll be building a model railroad layout to keep me busy when (and if!) I retire.

Best wishes to all at the class reunion. Can’t attend because I’m house-sitting while wife and two children are on a mission trip to the Philippines.
